Its special feature is its gel-like protective film, which is why it is considered a "gentle" detoxifier. In this country, bentonite became known as a government measure to reduce the radioactive contamination of food after the Chernobyl fallout, when the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture recommended bentonite as a feed additive to prevent higher radioactive contamination of the milk and meat of farm animals.
